Federal Health Care Reform Comes to California: The State’s Role

California has one of the highest rates of uninsured people in the nation. Supporters of the federal health care reform law say that, if done wisely, it could result in covering more than 80% of California’s uninsured.

Senator Ed Hernandez, Democrat from West Covina and Chair of the Senate’s Health Committee, Assemblymember Linda Halderman, Republican from Fresno and Vice Chair of the Assembly’s Committee on Aging and Long Term Care, and Dan Weintraub, a well respected reporter on health care issues in California from HealthCal.org discuss these questions and more.
