Ms. Bedell is the alumni engagement specialist at California State University, Bakersfield, helping run programs that connect the university’s graduates with their alma mater.

Before joining the university, she had a 25-year career in print journalism, much of that time as a reporter and editor at The Bakersfield Californian.
