AAngela Hiyama is the Director of Government Affairs in the South Valley, where she is responsible for local government affairs and policy issues, and oversees corporate initiatives and community affairs activities. In addition to her primary role at Comcast, Angela also serves as co-lead of the CA region’s Internet Essentials Program and co-chair of the Unidos Employee Resource Group (ERG).
Her passion for community and public affairs stemmed during her service as an intern to former Assemblymember Sarah Reyes. Angela continued her service to the public working for Congressman Jim Costa and Fresno County Supervisor Phil Larson. She also served as a Senior Community Relations Representative for Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Angela is graduate of California State University, Fresno where she earned a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism, and Latino Studies. She is an alumna of the The Maddy Institute’s Costa Federal Scholars Program and Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) Leadership Institute. Angela serves on the board of directors for the Fresno Chamber of Commerce, Boys & Girls Clubs of Fresno County, and The Maddy Institute. Her awards include: Rising Star Award by the Central California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and 40 Under 40 by Business Street Online.
Angela is married to Gene, a third generation farmer in Fowler. They have one daughter, Kate.
