Bob Beverly Sacramento Legislative Intern Scholar Program

The Bob Beverly Sacramento Legislative Intern Scholar Program offers internships to qualified current college students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience in a congressional office. Prestigious full-time, 8-10 weeks, summer internships are offered in Sacramento, CA. Students in the Sacramento, CA internship program have interned with Governor Gavin Newsom, Assemblymember Devin Mathis, Senator Anna Caballero, Senator Melissa Hurtado, Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula, Assemblymember Devon Mathis, Assemblymember Jim Patterson, Assemblymember Rudy Salas, and others.

These internships allow students to actively observe the legislative process while participating in the administrative operations of a state office. Intern responsibilities include attending hearings, researching legislative issues, responding to constituent inquiries, processing tour and flag requests, opening and routing incoming mail and performing general office duties.

Terms and dates of internships over the summer are flexible to accommodate course credit requirements.

2023 Program Deadlines

  • The application window for the Summer 2023 program is currently open and will remain open until January 26th at 5:00 PM. Priority Deadline is January 19, 2023 at 5:00 PM. Please email gcruz0521@csufresno.edu to apply or for more information.

Eligibility:

  • Must have a 3.0 overall GPA or higher
  • Must be at least a Junior in standing (60 units completed)  OR be a Graduate student in standing during the semester of the internship.
  • Must be able to work in Sacramento full time for 8-10 weeks during the summer.   
  • Must act with the highest degree of professionalism and responsibility.
